PTFE (PTFE) membrane syringe filters are suitable for filtering the most aggressive, acids, and base samples. Applications include HPLC solvent and gas chromatography filtration, degassing solvents prior to analysis, aerosol sampling, venting applications to sterilize air, gases and aerosols, and vacuum pump line protection. PTFE is hydrophobic, requiring wetting with methanol before using.

Additional 1.0µm glass fiber profiler (borosilicate) to trap larger particulate matter in samples (up to 100ml) to enhance throughput and flow rate and to extend the life of the membrane. These glass fiber profilers are binder-free and have a low affinity for protein.

17mm diameter syringe filters are designed to replace smaller 13mm sizes, respectively. Larger diameter syringe filters provide more membrane surface area for higher throughput and faster flow rate. These larger units reduce premature clogging from particulate load, characteristic of smaller diameter units.
