Taq DNA Polymerase is a thermostable enzyme (recombinant DNA polymerase) that can withstand prolonged incubation at temperatures up to 95°C without significant loss of activity. The enzyme consists of a single polypeptide with a molecular weight of approximately 94-95 kDa. It has a 5´-3´ DNA Polymerase activity and a 5´-3´ exonuclease activity.
Taq mixtures are also available. PCR Taq Mixtures are ready-to-use mixtures of Taq DNA Polymerase, salts, Magnesium, and dNTPs for efficient amplification of templates in PCR. Since all you have to do is add template and primers, the set-up times is reduced by half. dNTP Set, dATP, dCTP, dGTP, dTTP (2´-deoxynucleoside 5´-triphosphates), are suitable for use in PCR, sequencing, nick translation, fill-in, cDNA synthesis, and TdT tailing reaction, as well as for dilution of radio labeled dNTPs.
