Polypropylene is chemically resistant to common acids, solvents and alkalies, autoclavable, freezable, virtually unbreakable, and can be centrifuged to 3000 rpm (8000 x G). Polystyrene is clear like glass with minimal chemical resistance, not autoclavable, and can be centrifuged to 1500 rpm (1800 x G).
