Advantec MFS Syringe Filters

Sterile and Non-Sterile
Syringe filter units are designed for the filtration of small volumes of liquids or gasses.

Choose from 5 filter membranes:
• MCE (Cellulose Nitrate) • Cellulose Acetate
• PTFE, Hydrophilic • PTFE, Hydrophobic • Nylon

ADVANTEC/MFS®

Sterile disposable syringe filter units are designed to be used when filtering small volumes of liquid or gases to sterilize, ultraclean, clarify, or otherwise remove particulates, ideal for tissue culture and various HPLC applications. All units are packaged in sterile individual blister packs, ready to be used. Each unit is equipped with a female luer-lock inlet for easy attachment to a standard syringe. Membranes are sonically welded to the housing for strength and to provide bi-directional capability. Housing and packaging materials are non-pyrogenic (endotoxin-free). Sterility is by gamma irradiation and individually packaged in easy-to-open blister packs. All sterile syringe filter units are pyrogen free/endotoxin free. Bubble point and air flow rates are integrity tested.

MCE (Cellulose Nitrate Ester / aka Nitrocellulose)
  Higher protein binding than cellulose acetate for most proteins
  High porosity provides high flow rate
  Naturally hydrophilic membrane filter
 

 

NYLON
  Strong membranes with high thermostability
  Compatible with aqueous and organic solutions (except acids and bases), including most HPLC solvents
  Hydrophilic surface; does not require pre-wetting

 

Cellulose Acetate
  Low protein binding: suitable for aqueous protein solutions
  Nitrate-free: suitable for groundwater filtration
 

Naturally hydrophilic membrane filter

PTFE Hydrophobic
  Good chemical and pH resistace: suitable for HPLC filtration
Note, Needs wetting with methanol or other suitable (applicable) solvent.
 

PTFE Hydrophilic

Use as a vent or to protect vacuum pumps
